Summary

My name is Iris Dimitriadis, after visiting the Oracle of Delphi on my 18th birthday, I'm shocked to my core, to find out that I am a demigod! Yes, you heard correctly, a demigod! And one that is an offspring to one of the mighty gods。 I never believed in the Greek gods until I started showing superhuman abilities, and this drastic change of events has awakened a forbidden prophecy, that no mere mortal could ever hope to complete。 The barrier between the god's and humans has never been crossed before, well at least not until now。 Everything changed on that fateful night, when the gods received a prophecy from the Oracle of Delphi exclaiming that Mount Olympus will be overthrown and destroyed by an evil fiend, and that only four demigods would be able to save them from destruction。 These four demigods, offspring to the mighty gods of Olympus, will hold the fate of both worlds in their hands。

Wonderful novel, the way the author wrote about the Greek gods and intertwined it in the modern world。。。 absolutely brilliant! The characters are well written and described, giving the reader a perfect description, filling our imaginations。 I can’t wait for the sequel!

An extremely lovable story of a young Greek girl, from the beginning when she receives a prophecy, to the very end of her trials。 The characters she meets along the way bring tension, love, betrayal and most importantly friendships。 This is the authors first novel, and she has complete control over her story。 I definitely recommend and can’t wait for the next books in her series!!

A really quick read, but there is little to no character development。 The story line is extremely straight to the point and doesn't give the characters true humanity within the novel as they are not given "fluff time" to appeal to the reader, as they quickly find each other and start the quest before you even get to the first 50-75 pages。 I would like to get to know the characters before they are put on a quest that could possibly kill them A really quick read, but there is little to no character development。 The story line is extremely straight to the point and doesn't give the characters true humanity within the novel as they are not given "fluff time" to appeal to the reader, as they quickly find each other and start the quest before you even get to the first 50-75 pages。 I would like to get to know the characters before they are put on a quest that could possibly kill them 。。。more

I enjoyed the novel overall in regards to the plot and characters。 However I do wish it was a tad longer as most of the chapters clocked in at 5 pages or so and it would have been able to connect more with the characters and their distinct voices。 I do hope that the next novels in this series have a bit more 'meat' to gnaw on as it definitely peaked my interest。A wonderful first novel Rebecca it would've been a 5/5 if it was just a bit more content wise (also really enjoyed the various illustrat I enjoyed the novel overall in regards to the plot and characters。 However I do wish it was a tad longer as most of the chapters clocked in at 5 pages or so and it would have been able to connect more with the characters and their distinct voices。 I do hope that the next novels in this series have a bit more 'meat' to gnaw on as it definitely peaked my interest。A wonderful first novel Rebecca it would've been a 5/5 if it was just a bit more content wise (also really enjoyed the various illustrations throughout it) 。。。more

I haven't read any novels for a while but when I came across this one I was intrigued。 Purchased a soft cover and to my surprise I couldn't put it down until I finished it。 Great story line and nice character development。 I also totally loved the fight scenes! What sets this novel apart from others in the same genre is it's accuracy in Greek Mythology。 So many novels always paint a positive outlook to the gods but not this one! This book had so much potential but was so rushed。The author is great at explaining the Greek myths for those who don't know much about them。 She was also able to create a great cast of characters that I enjoyed。 Other than that though the rest of the book left so much to be desired。 The story is lacking any depth or length of time for events to be impactful。 It starts off with a prophecy and then immediately moves to a single day of training before the quest begins。 There was two major fights This book had so much potential but was so rushed。The author is great at explaining the Greek myths for those who don't know much about them。 She was also able to create a great cast of characters that I enjoyed。 Other than that though the rest of the book left so much to be desired。 The story is lacking any depth or length of time for events to be impactful。 It starts off with a prophecy and then immediately moves to a single day of training before the quest begins。 There was two major fights that seemed like it could be great character building ended in only one page。 Both fights had large monsters that are almost played out to be terrifying but end so quickly that it lacks any meaning or depth。 I won't spoil what the fights are but they were terrified of the first one and then just as quickly as it appeared it was slain。 Overall, when the second book in the series comes out I may give it a read because of the potential of the story。 If the Second book is better then I may recommend this book, but for now I would wait for the reviews of the second book。 。。。more

I thought this book had a lot of potential。 I love Greek mythology and I enjoyed the Percy Jackson books。 Although the book had strong storytelling enthusiasm, I felt it was rushed and could have been a bit more detailed。 The author did great in giving background information, especially if you are new to the Greek mythology world。 But as soon as you meet the main characters, you are thrown into a school to train demigods and a day later they are already starting their quest。 Although enjoyable, I thought this book had a lot of potential。 I love Greek mythology and I enjoyed the Percy Jackson books。 Although the book had strong storytelling enthusiasm, I felt it was rushed and could have been a bit more detailed。 The author did great in giving background information, especially if you are new to the Greek mythology world。 But as soon as you meet the main characters, you are thrown into a school to train demigods and a day later they are already starting their quest。 Although enjoyable, it felt really rushed for me。 Just wish it elaborated more and possibly could have been a duology in order for their to be something more。 。。。more
